THE ROUTE:

The 8km Serengeti run to Duiker (easy non-technical) and 5km Redridge, Peter pan to Duiker (little technical). Each run starts off with a jeep track and then single track. Briefing will start at 18h20!!

Please note that night running is a challenge and that you must still run with caution. There are rocks and roots on the trail that is not easily visible under the moonlight. There will first aid trained persons at the main stage that will attend to emergencies, details will be given at briefing.

The route is a combination of jeep track, single track and cow trails. There is loose gravel and stones and the surface is uneven. Please walk or run with care to prevent injuries. 

For off road running it is recommended that you make use of trail running shoes, which provide greater support and traction. Should you be injured please request your fellow runners/walkers to notify the next marshal on route so that arrangements can be made to get assistance to you.

The route will be marked with reflectors and fairy lights hanging in trees. 

ENVIRONMENT:

Littering will not be tolerated.

All containers and packaging must be carried and only disposed at official bins/support areas. In general please respect the environment. We are making use of private property.

Farm Windhoek Fitness Obstacles are not to be used without proper guidance by Farm Windhoek Fitness members. Please do not damage any property or obstacles. Obstacles are to be used at own risk and Farm Windhoek Fitness indemnifies itself and the members from any liability arising how so ever. 

SAFETY:

Participants need to assess for themselves (and /or minors) whether they are fit enough to take part.

All participants take part in the event at their own risk and indemnify the organisers, sponsors, host and other authorities of any loss or injury, however that loss or injury may be caused which might occur in preparation for, during or subsequent to the event and in any circumstances in which the organisers, sponsors and local and other authorities might attract a legal liability in respect of such injury or loss.

Other possible dangers in a trail route include wild animals.

Thursday 3 AUGUST 2017 from 17h00 to 19h00 @ Farm Windhoek Fitness. No late entries will be excepted thereafter.

Each trail has one water point sponsored by IJG!!

GENERAL RULES:

Competitors shall:

Practice good sportsmanship at all times,

Be responsible for their own safety,

Obey instructions from race officials,

Treat other competitors, officials, volunteers, and spectators with respect and courtesy,

Ensure that they are familiar with the race course; the participant is responsible for any deviations from route.

Competitors shall ensure that numbers are clearly displayed on the front of their shirts at all times. Further instructions about race numbers and finishing protocol will be announced at the start of the race. Please pay attention to these instructions. 

No items deemed to be a hazard to self or others can be worn e.g. no headsets or headphones. 

You may run with headlamp, but would be preferred to run in the moonlight.
